Barberries & Seeds Crackers


fills an oven tray

4 tbsp chia seeds
2 tbsp flaxseeds
6 tbsp ground flaxseeds
1 handful washed dried barberries
1 cup hot water
2 x 1/3 cup hulled hemp seeds
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp sea salt
black pepper


If you don’t have a dehydrator, preheat your oven to 120°C.

Place the chia, flaxseeds, ground flaxseed and barberries into a bowl. Add the hot water, give it a good stir and let it rest 10 min.

Once the mixture has thickened, add the remaining ingredients and stir well.

Oven method: Place a baking sheet on your oven tray and spread the mixture evenly. Bake for un hour, then flip the cracker over and bake for another 30 min. Turn the oven off but leave the cracker inside for another 30 min. Break into pieces. And store in an airtight container.

Dehydrator: Dehydrate at 40°C for 12-16h flipping the cracker halfway through for a uniform dehydration.
